The toughest test in the Met! Winged Foot has been home to so many historic moments over the years, it's impossible to tell the story of golf in the United States without it. A.W. Tillinghast laid out 36 spectacular holes on the property, with the East course being *slightly* more approachable compared to the West. The West Course has hosted numerous significant championships including the 2019 US Open, where a certain triumphant golfer fired the opening salvo in the ongoing "War Against Good Golf Course Design". In 50 years, we'll probably look back at Bryson's cartoonish bludgeoning of the course as one of the most pivotal moments in the history of the game. Hope we get it right!
