The National Golf Links of America is perhaps the finest example of links golf found in America. The C.B. Macdonald masterpiece was created using a number of Macdonald's famous template holes, giving the seaside course the feel of a true Scottish links course. Notable holes include the 7th hole, patterned after the 17th "Road Hole" at St Andrews, and the Redan 4th hole.
